This is a class, not a dance. We learn & practice the dances for: The Ohio Scottish Games, Balls, Dances & Demos held in various locations. And just for the fun of it! How much you participate outside of class is up to you.
ALL,
The Scottish Games are approaching. The end of June is not far away. The event performance times are 7:15-8 on Friday, June 27, 2025
11:15-12 and 2:15-3 on Saturday, June 28, 2025
If you have not already confirmed to me your interest in participating in the demo’s this year, please do so soon. The dances will be the same as last year – with the possible exception of changing “Antarctica Bound” to “Wunderbar”.
We currently have 9-10 class members that have committed to performing at the event. We could use a few more experienced people.
As in the past all experienced demo(performance) team members will need to memorize the ten dances. New dancers will not be expected to learn all of the dances, but select maybe two that you can do well. We will be practicing all dances in class during the months of May and June.
If you are new to the demo(performances): It is recommended that you attend all classes. This is not only to know the dances but to determine the setting up of the sets based on skill level.
If you are not new to the demo(performances): Please make all efforts to attend the event.
The dances are: Antarctica Bound / “Wunderbar”, Catch the Wind, Silver Hamer, On the Quarterdeck, Blue Bonnets, Burns Bicentennial, Trip to Bavaria, Swashbuckling Ian, MacDonald of Keppoch, Westminster Reel
As in the past the outfits are: MEN: kilt if possible or long khakis with long sleeved, button down black shirts. WOMEN: white skirts (at least knee length) and black sleeved tops
